Welcome to our newest staff member, Tara Hudson! Tara is joining our team as Children’s Ministry Director. During the next few months, she will be working with Donna Elmquist and Mari Eklund to ensure a smooth transition in our children’s ministry. Get to know Tara and her excitement for the new role.
What does the Children’s Ministry Director do?
Tara will be responsible for building relationships with children and families. She will oversee the Sunday School and Gathering Kids’ Central programs. Tara will also coordinate Vacation Bible School and the safety program TVLC has for our children.
What does Tara bring to this role?
Tara brings a strong background in education and church service to the role. Tara earned a BA in Education with a minor in Music from the University of Arizona. Tara taught elementary education for several years in the Sunnyside and Vail school districts. At TVLC, Tara has volunteered with our Middle School student program, the TVLC Preschool Board, Call Committees, and Roots Family Ministries.

Tara grew up in Henderson, NV. She is married to Ed and they have 3 children, Parker (10), Bennett (7) and Denae (4). Bennett and Denae were baptized at TVLC. In her spare time, Tara loves running, reading, crafting, coffee, and dinner with friends.
What does Tara have to say?
“I am most excited to provide opportunities for families to grow and deepen a sense of community within the church. I want to provide a place where our kids love learning about God and develop lasting relationships with each other. Creating a safe place for our kids to have fun, ask questions, and ultimately support our families is my goal!”
