By Sue Jensen, Confirmation

We are fortunate to have these young people among us and celebrate their confirmations of faith! We thank God for them, their families, their teachers, and all others who have encouraged them in their faith journeys. Our prayer for them is that they will be blessed as they each affirm their baptism and that they will be encouraged to continue to grow in faith.

Connor Gardlund attends Emily Gray Junior High, where he is in 8th grade. His favorite class is algebra, he’s a percussionist in the school band, and he also enjoys an afterschool Dungeons and Dragons class. In his spare time, Connor enjoys reading fiction and building various large structures. He is currently building a life-size human skeleton out of Connex. His family includes mom Jan and dad Erik, and older sister Karli. Connor plans to attend college and someday work as a music teacher or an architect. Given enough time, Connor says, “I can make anything out of my five bins of Legos.”

Alyssa Marvik is a 10th grader at Sabino High, where her favorite classes are biology and physical education. Alyssa found much to like while taking online classes during the pandemic. When not in school she enjoys playing soccer and being with her friends. As a service to her church and community, Alyssa planned and participated in the Blessing of the Animals service held at TVLC in February 2020. She lives with grandparents Sandy and Gordon, and her brother Issiah, a senior in high school.

Daniel Provenzano is in the 9th grade at University High, where he especially enjoys his AP environmental science and math classes and where he participates in marching band. He’s a Boy Scout and enjoys hiking, camping, and tennis. A Tucson native, Daniel lives with his mom Krista and dad Keith, brother Alex, a desert tortoise, and two geckos. He plans on going to college, but has not decided on a career path.
