For many, it’s a good reason to look through cabinets and closets for things they are no longer using. For others, it’s a place to give goods so they don’t end up in landfills. And for some, it’s about making affordable goods available to others. For several, it’s a fun hobby to rehome belongings. So what happened to the things donated to the rummage sale last year and what are the future plans for the rummage sale?

Respecting protocols for volunteer and seller and buyer safety, the rummage sale was reimagined and reworked in 2020. Inventory overran storage capabilities, so new ways of helping the community were put into action.

Money was raised for the TVLC Preschool and Kindergarten and High School and Middle School Student Ministries at TVLC by taking clothing and textiles to Savers, raising $1,055. Sales of large furniture items have also continued out of the storage garage.

Good were supplied directly to individuals and families and to community charities, which were overwhelmed with requests for help as people suffered financially during the pandemic.

Our storage spaces at TVLC remain full, so we are not accepting any additional items at this time. However, if you have items to donate we encourage you to talk to us or contact one of the charities listed above. Plans for a smaller, reimagined event are in the works.

Thank you for all the support you’ve provided donating and buying goods. Together we’ve helped reuse, repurpose, recycle and taken care of our community and our planet!
