This fall we joyfully welcomed new members to our TVLC family. You can get to know them a little better here!
Eileen Ashburn
Eileen Ashburn moved to Tucson with her husband and infant son in 1963. She worked in finance and retired in 2010.
Eileen grew up on a farm in Tinley Park, Illinois and was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul Lutheran in Tinley Park. She has 2 adult sons and 2 granddaughters.
Peggy Barnett
Peggy Barnett has lived in Tucson for 46 years. She is the retired owner of a ServiceMaster franchise.
Peggy enjoys baking, reading and puzzles.
Nancy Ireland
Nancy Ireland recently moved to Tucson from Phoenix to be closer to her daughter, member Becky Copp. Nancy works in the Payroll department for UArizona and is a proud UArizona alumna.
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Wendy Marcus
Wendy Marcus grew up in Tucson. She returned here in 2019. Wendy is semi-retired from her career as an attorney, specializing in juvenile dependencies and criminal law. She has 8 grandchildren.
Diane Nelson
Diane Nelson moved to Tucson in 2014. She is employed by the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
Diane has six children. Three are in Tucson and three are in New York.
Bob and Joyce Owens
Bob and Joyce Owens moved to Tucson in 2020 from Elgin. Bob is a Civil Engineer who is “nearly retired” from Engineering and Environmental Consultants.
Joyce and Bob enjoy traveling, hiking, reading and cooking. They have one adult son.
Dale and Jane Schlak
Dale and Jane Schlak moved to Tucson in 1982 courtesy of the United State Air Force. Dale is retired from the USAF and the United States Postal Service. Jane worked as a merchandiser for LEGO and American Greetings.
They have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
Chuck and Ruth Waldron
Chuck and Ruth Waldron met in 1960 at the Lutheran Student Chapel while students at the University of Michigan. They have lived in Tucson since 1969 and were early members of TVLC. They have two adult boys who were confirmed by Pastor Linder.
Chuck is a retired Internal Medicine physician and Ruth is a fulltime homemaker. Chuck enjoys gardening, outdoor activities and history books. Ruth enjoys walks, reading and genealogy.
In June 2023, they will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
Chris and Katina French
We were also happy to welcome Chris and Katina French into the TVLC family.
