By Vickie Denning, Communications Director

TVLC is filled with remarkable people. Because of the number and size of our services, we often miss out on meeting someone or having the opportunity to get to know them. Today we’ll meet the Jimenez Lievanos family. Marely and Felix have a daughter, Jazmyn (11). Marely’s mom, Olga, is also a part of their family household. (The baby in the photo is their grandnephew, Roberto.)

About you?
Marely and Felix have been in Tucson for 19 years. Felix is from Puerto Rico and Marely is from Los Mochis, Mexico. They met in Guadalajara and came to Tucson as a middle ground!

Marely and Felix are both physicians. Felix has been in the behavioral health field for 20 years. Marely has worked as the Associate Director for Children and Family Services for a local nonprofit for 16 years.

Hobbies?
The family loves the outdoors — especially the beach! In their neighborhood, they like to ride bikes or go to the lake. Indoors, they love to play board games and puzzles. They also love dogs and foster puppies. They have one rescue dog of their own, Violet.

Hidden talents?
Felix is the crafty one in the family. Marely has a thing for helping others. Jazmyn can work on multiple puzzles at the same time.

Family rituals?
The family has a beautiful morning ritual. They says “en nombre sea de Dios” when they get in the car for the first outing of the day. It means “in God’s name.”

Favorite TVLC memory?
They love Christmas Eve services at TVLC. They feel “at home” and “in peace.”
