TVLC is filled with remarkable people. Because of the number and size of our services, we often miss out on meeting folks or having the opportunity to get to know them. Today we’ll meet the Banchy family.
About you?
Annette and John were married by Pastor Sondra Krogstad, one of TVLC’s previous Associate Pastors! They have two children, Adison (14) and Parker (12).
Annette grew up driving a tractor, baling hay, and helped her veterinarian dad in a small farming community in Minnesota. She moved to Arizona after earning her nursing degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Annette began her career as a trauma/ICU nurse and — desiring to strive for quality care on a systemic level — returned to school and obtained a MA in Health Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Annette is now Director of Quality and Risk Management at Radiology, Ltd.
John is originally from Ohio and moved to Tucson after graduating high school. He worked in the copper mines and Sperry Marine before attending the University of Arizona to obtain a degree in Business Administration. John worked for Intuit for over 20 years before choosing to step back from the corporate world to work as a Starbucks barista and have more time with Adison, Parker and his brother, whose health was failing.
Adison is a freshman at Tanque Verde High School. She loves being back with her friends after a year of remote learning. Adison is on the volleyball team and especially enjoys her French class. She loves all things musical — singing, dancing, and playing the piano.
Parker is in the 7th grade at Emily Gray Junior High School. Parker competes on the Old Pueblo Gymnastics team. He enjoys anything he can “build, grow or engineer” including LEGO sets that have more than 500 pieces!
Hobbies?
The Banchy family enjoys hiking, biking and “most anything outdoors.” They enjoy vacations to the mountains and have visited many National Parks including Glacier, Yellowstone, Arches, Moab, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, and Yosemite. Annette says they are in “awe of God’s creations and what great diversity in landscape and terrain” our country contains.
Pets?
The family has two Bichon Frise rescues named Ricky and Lucy who the family hopes enjoys them as much as they enjoy the dogs!
Favorite TVLC memory?
The Banchys enjoy the children’s sermons and the children’s responses to the pastors. Annette remembers a pastor asking the children where money comes from and a child gleefully responding “from trees!”
The family is grateful for the TVLC family and the friendships they have made. Annette says that serving on “Council this past year has opened my eyes to the dedication, commitment, and incredible outreach TVLC has in the Tucson community.”
Have you enjoyed getting to know the Banchys a little bit better? Can we share your story? We’d love to hear from you! Contact VickieDenning@tvlc.org
