Email scams are intended to defraud you in various ways. To not fall prey to a scam, advice from experts includes the following recommendations.
- Click on the sender’s name and check out what address the email was sent from. Does it come from a tvlc.org address?
- Look at the language. Check for poor grammar or flowery language including use of the word “kindly” or “warmest greetings” or other words that are not normally used in emails from our pastors.
- If there is an urgent request for money via gift cards or wire transfers, it is not from our pastors. Discard the email.
- Do not click on links in the email. Without clicking on them, you may be able to hover over them and see where they are directing you. But, best yet, just contact us.
Please call (520.749.1606) or email (info@tvlc.org) the office before clicking anything in a suspicious email. We respond within 24 hours to email no matter the time or day of the week.
