Repurposing goods. Rebuilding lives.
By: Vickie Denning, Communications Director
May was another BUSY month bringing joy to others due to the hard work of our Household Blessings team, your generosity, and a beautiful quilt made by our TVLC Quilters. Take a look at how your donations have been used to help others in our community. Click on the ministry partners’ names to learn more about the agencies.
Casa Maria workers are devoted to feeding and clothing those in need and working for liberty, social justice, and peace. We delivered toiletries, men’s suits, bags of clothing, and pet food.
Care Portal helps vulnerable children and families. We provided furniture and walkers. The Boy Scouts donated 7 tables.
More Than a Bed provides essential items to foster, kinship and adoptive families. We supplied toys, baby needs, stuffed animals, and coats.
Sister Jose Women’s Center is dedicated to the care and nurture of homeless women to help them move out of homelessness. We provided shoes, sun hats, clothing, blankets, and canned meals.
Women Warriors works to support female veterans’ well-being and to eradicate financial and housing insecurity. We delivered clothing and shoes, kitchen supplies, and a beautiful quilt made by our TVLC Quilters.
Household Blessings also hosted shoppers sent by Eagles Wings of Grace, which helps women from poverty to economic independence, and from Compass Affordable Housing, which works to support low-cost housing and support services. The shoppers were a family battling cancer and families moving into housing.
You can be a part of this ministry! When you’re replacing, downsizing, or cleaning out your cupboards and closets and you know the items could be given with dignity to another family, call Donna Elmquist (520.603.2399) or Mari Eklund (520.870.1772).
You can also join the team to help gather, sort, pack, and distribute items. The team is now helping those who need a hand clearing out kitchens or items in their home that are then donated to Household Blessings.
