What’s New this Fall?

It is an understatement to note that we have undergone changes and challenges in our personal lives and as a church during the past several months.

Pastor Josh and Pastor Stephen discuss the challenges and lift up new ways that we have found to be church together. While acknowledging times of sadness, frustration and disappointment, they note how the TVLC family has continued to support and care for each other.

  • We have found new ways to worship and learn.
  • We have found new ways to connect and serve.
  • We have found new ways to meet evolving needs in our community.
  • We have made innovations that will shape our ministry for years to come as we live out our mission to follow Jesus and share his love.

And now, with COVID numbers trending downward, we will take a step toward in-person worship and will offer an outdoor worship option. Beginning Sunday, October 18 at 10:15am, we will offer a worship service on the patio outside the sanctuary. Masks will be required and physical distancing will be practiced. Because seating will be limited, we will ask for RSVPs to appropriately plan the service.

We will continue to hold our full livestream service with communion each week at 9:15am or later on your schedule. This remains the safest option and will continue to be the preference for many for the foreseeable future.

We are also opening our sanctuary for prayer and refection on Thursdays from 8-10am and Saturdays from 4-6pm. This will be an open house opportunity with limited capacity. Masks and physical distancing will be required.

To make these opportunities available, we need volunteers to help with hospitality, ushering, set-up, and audio-visual assistance. If you are willing to help, please contact Veanne in the church office.

It may be an understatement to note there have been challenges and changes over the past several months, but it is not an understatement to say that we are grateful for our community’s response and look forward to the ways God will continue to guide us and put our hands to work to impact our community and world.
