“This church (ELCA) teaches that civic engagement is a vital aspect of discipleship for baptized Christians … This church also strongly affirms voting, guided by faith-based values, as an exercise in citizenship.”

Government and Civic Engagement in the United States: Discipleship in a Democracy, a social message of the ELCA, 2020

As a part of TVLC’s “God’s Work. Our Hands” annual celebration of service to our community, our advocacy ministry will lead a project to ensure that every eligible member of our congregation is able to vote during this time of pandemic.

This effort is strictly non-partisan and does not promote any party or candidate. The project team will follow all procedures required by the Pima County Recorder’s Office.

Project volunteers will contact TVLC’s members and friends by various methods including email, phone, social media, or postcards to learn if assistance is needed to register to vote or in being able to vote. This can include helping with transportation for the voter to deliver their mail-in ballot or a ride to their polling place on November 3.

Can you help with this vital effort? Contact Gerd Renno at 520-975-8924 or the church office at 520-749-1606 to volunteer or ask questions. Volunteers will be provided with training and necessary materials.
